What are our tools?

in Welcome Conversation

We need to assess our toolboxes for this undertaking. I think we can accomplish this without the need to purchase equipment. Do we all have access to the Internet? Do we have smartphones or computers with video capability? Can we live-stream? Can we set up a camera in such a way so that I can see what your hands are doing? What do you think?

I think this is totally doable. We'll figure it out together!

First question is whether we can do this on our phones. They have good cameras, but how difficult will it be to see what our hands are doing?

Good question. I can use a laptop if need be. You might be right about the difficulties of a small screen.

Lets see what we can do with the small screen first, as I think that will be most convenient for most students.

Does anyone have a preference between using Zoom and Skype for your lesson?

For my kiddos using a laptop and Skype would probably be best. Would you be willing to do lessons in the evening when I'm home to help set it up?

Of course! At least until you and they feel comfortable with it.
